In my posting yesterday, I wrote about the importance of not compromising. Perhaps, the thought behind changing or compromising the message is we will appeal to a broader base of people, but at the sacrifice of the truth.  Although, I want people to be comfortable in the church setting, it is more important that we be convicted by the Word.  When the Word is preached it needs to be convicting.  The Word can not be changed to fit our needs, but we need to conform to the Word.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I came across a video that speaks of the religious world today.   It brings to life the following scripture:

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
