The Bible states...

Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

The question I raise is...what is grace?  We preach and teach about it, but it is necessary that we comprehend the goodness of Jesus Christ and His grace.

According to Strong's Concordance, the word grace means graciousness.  Truthfully, I do not find that definition to be satisfying, but the dictionary defines grace as a favor rendered by one who need not do so.  It is a gift from God...

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

The grace becomes apparent in our lives because we have the sentence of death upon us and Jesus took our place in death...

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What a wonderful and awesome God that would manifest himself in flesh to take our place that we might have eternal life...

1Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

He did not have to come, but he came and taking our place in death so that we might be saved...now that is grace.
