God has been speaking to me about obeying his commandments.  There is no doubt that as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ that I would have an unending desire to be obedient to the commandments of God and I do.  Through prayer, study and preaching, God has been dealing with me concerning his commandments and the importance of obedience. I was recently given a prayer journal written by E.M. Bounds and over the last couple weeks, it has been speaking of obedience.

The commandments of God are found throughout the scripture and obviously should be adhered to by every Christian.  These commandments often rub against the grain of our flesh, but our necessary to show our love to God and ultimately make it to heaven.

Although, the Word of God may not be in unity with our flesh, the commandments of God are not difficult to obey.  It may seem easy that I say that through this blog, but it is the Word (God's Word Version)...

1 John 5:3 To love God means that we obey his commandments. Obeying his commandments isn't difficult
1 John 5:4 because everyone who has been born from God has won the victory over the world. Our faith is what wins the victory over the world.

We are victorious and can walk this earth as overcomers through the power of the Word of God.  This confidence can be found through prayer, fasting and the study of the Word.  When we follow the commandments of God while maintaining constant communication with Him then His commandments are not difficult to follow and obedience becomes as natural as breathing.
