I preach, teach and speak on vision through this blog, communiques and over the pulpit. It is vision that keeps us focused on the task that is at hand and it helps in guiding us through every situation. If we have no vision then we will simply have no direction.
It is the vision of Cornerstone Chapel to impact our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do that through the preaching and teaching sound doctrine over the pulpit, in our Sunday school and in our community based Bible studies. We strive to fulfill our vision in teaching of personal Bible studies of all lengths and ministering to the residents of our nursing home. Our vision requires work and stamina realizing that doing what God has called us to do should be our passion which requires personal sacrifice.
Our vision is our lighthouse in the storms of life. It allows us to stand on the promises of God throughout the many up and downs of life. When I was a child, we would sing a hymn titled Standing on the Promises of God. It is one of the verses that speaks to every situation and it simply says...
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.
As we move into 2009, we should have a renewed vigor with the knowledge that God will give us an increase in souls. It is our desire to baptize more people people than we ever have before and to see people filled with the Holy Ghost at our altars. Let us move forward with some now faith and turn this community upside down for Jesus while always maintaining the vision.
